Electric Picnic - A festival that takes place once a year in beautiful Ireland. The festival attracts huge music acts such as Chemical Brothers, Blur, Lana Del Ray and other popular musicians. The lively festival is also home to a huge art community, displaying unusual art in trees and other 'trippy' installations around the huge grounds.
This was my 4th music festival in the summer of 2015, I attended the 3-day music festival not knowing what random experience I was about to have. On the second day, I woke up and the left-hand side of my face wouldn't move.  After attending the first aid tent I was told I had gotten a draft in the tent that had caused me to get Bells Palsy. Bells Palsy is a paralysis or weakness of the muscles on one side of your face, common in old people.
I couldn't blink, smile or even laugh without looking like my face was melting. It was something that should have caused worry but I found the funny side to it and it brought great entertainment to my friends. Unfortunately, the song I Can't Feel My Face by The Weekend had just been released, so I had my own theme song. My face stayed motionless for 6 whole weeks!
This "traumatic" experience sparked a creative idea, to use my festival knowledge to create a book to prepare people who are about to attend music festivals. The book is broken up into different chapters, offering a few tips followed by a story that sparked the reason for that tip. All stories are from my friends and myself and all photographs are ones I took at festivals.
In no way, shape or form am I condoning or promoting the use of illegal drugs. The aim of the book was to be as honest as possible and to prepare people for what might or could happen. The design theme of the book was to re-create those 'trippy' visuals that are visible throughout the festivals. This is shown in photographs and the chapter breaks.
This is just a few pages of the 32 page guide.
